Every flat rate includes

Hourly crews
For small moves, labor-only jobs and anything under three hours. Two-hour minimum, then 15-minute steps. The truck, pads and wrap are included.

How the flat rate works

Send photos of each room, or a ten-minute video walkthrough by text.

We build the inventory and send a written flat rate the same day. It is good for 30 days.

On move day that number only changes if the inventory does, and you approve any change before we lift it.
Money questions
Do you charge by the hour or a flat rate?
Both, and you choose. Local moves get a flat rate after a photo or video walkthrough, and that number does not move unless the inventory does. Small jobs and labor-only work are hourly with a two-hour minimum.
What about stairs, elevators and long carries?
Included within 150 feet of the truck. We reserve elevators with your building and bring floor and door protection. Extreme carries, like Laguna hillside streets with no truck access, are priced in the quote up front, never sprung on move day.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Orange Crate is a licensed California household goods mover with cargo and liability insurance. Basic valuation coverage at $0.60 per pound is included in every move, and full-value protection is available for a small added cost.
What happens if something breaks?
Tell the crew lead before they leave so it is on the paperwork, then text us a photo. We repair or pay out under the coverage you chose, usually within a week. It is rare, and we would rather fix it than argue about it.
